Community Participation & Transport

Community Participation & Transport

Individuals living with disabilities, elderly people or individuals with chronic health problems face a lot of difficulty to experience the community on their own and have a tough time dealing with the public transport.

We have a team of highly skilled professionals and caregivers which make sure you do not miss out on anything and help you do most of the tasks as independently as you can. Nurse aid support givers can now help you with:

  • Assistance to the community and social activities
  • Find and keep the job
  • Improved learning
  • Improved living conditions

Transport is an important aspect of community participation. NDIS pays for a support driver to drive you around and accompany you in the community or social activities. This includes:

  • shopping
  • social events
  • transport
  • medical appointments

These trips are charged at an agreed hourly rate, which includes the total time your support worker attends the outing and can also cover the time it takes your support worker to travel to and from your residence.

The additional travel costs like road tolls, parking costs, or a ticket for public transport is not included in this. It’s always a good idea to discuss these beforehand and sign the agreement outlining the agreed hourly rate and which extra costs they’ll charge you for. Nurse Aid gives you transparency in all the agreements and makes sure that there are no hidden or sudden expenses.
We are also specialised in Supported Independent Living (SIL), Short Term Accomodation (STA) Medium Term Accomodation (MTA) Vacation and Respite care. Our highly skilled team members are committed on providing personalised holistic support in achieving your goals.
